Ours is a family run bed and breakfast,
in the picturesque village of Macharaviaya. Nestled in
amongst the Axarquia countryside, the village is the
perfect base to enjoy hill walking, mountain biking and
bird watching. We are only 15
minutes drive from the coast for those who enjoy a beach
holiday and the village has it's own communal
pool within walking distance. There is a championship golf
course 10 minutes drive away and we are also within
easy driving distance of supermarkets and two commercial
shopping centres each with cinemas, bowling and a selection of restaurants.
Macharaviaya is situated 27 kilometres East of Malaga (making it a 30
minute drive from the Airport) and 10 kilometres from the
coast. The coastline here is much less commercial than the main Costa Del
Sol, which means the beaches are quieter yet still popular,
particularly with the Spanish community.
The village itself is steeped in History dating back to the 17th Century
and was home to the historically prominent Galvez family.
There are two small bars in the village, the Church of San Jacinto and
the Galvez Museum.A communal pool and bar has been open for two years
along with a tennis court and football pitch.
We have a family room (which easily sleeps three and a baby) with en suite bathroom and two twin rooms with shared facilities. All rooms include continental breakfast, although English breakfast is available on request. We also have a pleasant secluded rear terrace, with barbecue, which enjoys the sun for most of the day. We have adult mountain bikes for hire for those who wish to enjoy the fabulous countryside. Bird watching and hill walking are easily achieved, the village is surrounded by open land and wildlife is in abundance. We can also arrange tee times etc. for your golfing requirements. Thus said, we endeavour to make your stay with us as enjoyable as possible, so if there is something you are not sure of or you need any help with, we are always on hand to ask.
Macharaviaya is 27 kilometres from Malaga and the airport and easily reached via the N340 Motorway
towards Nerja and Almeria.
Junction 258 is signposted for Macharaviaya, which leads you off the motorway and along a 7 kilometre
mountain road straight to the village.
We can contact you with more specific details if you require them.
